The Alcatel One Touch Idol X – One Phone Upgrade You May Not Have Considered

There are many options available when it comes to upgrading your phone. Many people will opt to upgrade to one of the big three phone manufacturers, Samsung, Apple or HTC. Or they may just decide to stick with the same manufacturer of their existing handset.

One of the emerging manufacturers that may pique your interest is Alcatel. And with their new One Touch Idol X, they are sure to make waves in the phone market. This phone has a massive 5 inch FHD IPS screen, which has a resolution of 1920 X 180, which is Full HD, and a pixel density of 441 PPI.

However, its major selling point is, there is zero bezel around the sides, which results In a truly unique look, which is bound to be followed by some of the big 3 manufacturers soon. Although called zero bezel, there is of course a tiny sliver of plastic around the sides, which is more or less unavoidable. However, this slimmed down form factor enables a decent grip, which some other larger phones do not allow.

Even though the phone only comes in 16GB storage size, there is a Micro SD slot available for memory enhancement. So, you can slot in a 32GB Micro SD card, and have a potential storage capacity of 48GB.

Not all of this sounds good, but may not be enough to make you consider recycling your current phone, and upgrading to the Alcatel One Touch Idol X. There’s more however, that may turn your head. How about the 13.1MP camera, capable of recording Full HD video, and the secondary camera weighing in at 2.1MP for your Skype or video calls? This is truly an amazing camera, and matched with that massive 5 inch screen, is able to produce some amazing images, to rival even the best cameras on other smart phones.

Also, the CPU on this phone is a beast, a quad core running at 1.5GHz – this will enable this handset to easily perform memory intensive multi-tasking jobs. So, you can have multiple apps running all at the same time, without causing the phone to even break a sweat. It comes from the factory running on of the latest Android firmware versions, 4.2.1, which is Jelly Bean, so with this version of the OS on board, you can rest assured that your phone will be as smooth as can be, thanks to Project Butter.

Finally, perhaps the biggest selling point of this phone is the price point. This phone can often be found for sale, sim free, at a cost that is less than even the budget models of some of the big manufacturer’s phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.

Although not officially released yet, it is worth inquiring with your local phone shop or provider, to see if you can get a pre-order for the One Touch Idol X. This goes beyond an entry level smart phone, but at an entry level price.
